US based electric motor systems manufacturer KLD Energy Technologies has partnered with diesel and LPG powertrains maker Cenntro Group to develop 4-wheel electric vehicles (EVs) that incorporate KLD's electric vehicle drive system technologies.
Under the agreement, KLD Energy Technologies will provide motor propulsion system for the jointly developed 4-wheel EVs.
Comprised of the motor, battery pack and controller, KLD's motor system improves the usage of electric propulsion with positive environmental and social implications.
In addition, the motor system is optimised for high volume products that rely on high torque motors.
The two companies are planning to initially introduce a utility electric vehicle (UEV), neighborhood electric vehicle (NEV) and an intra-city logistic vehicle (ILV).
UEV is an off-road and on-road work and maintenance vehicle, NEV is a low-speed vehicle, while ILV is a compact delivery vehicle similar to those used by major overnight delivery services.
