AliveCor, a US-based digital health company, has unveiled its AliveCor heart monitor, a mobile device-based electrocardiogram (ECG) monitor that easily attaches to any supported iOS or Android device.
The first FDA-cleared mobile device-based ECG monitor incorporates a proprietary AliveCor ultrasound technology, which enables a clinical-quality ECG recording of the heart's activity, while minimizing battery drain.
The new slim design is more discrete and convenient for portability and easy to install.
The new device had clinically proved to deliver accurate, simple, and powerful results similar to other heart monitors.
In addition to Samsung Galaxy S3, S4, and HTC One, the portable heart monitor is now compatible with iPhone4, 4S, 5 and iPod touch 5.
AliveCor also offers cases for the Galaxy S4 and for the iPhone 4, 4S, and 5.
AliveCor president and CEO Euan Thomson said the company has today extended the benefits of its mobile ECG technology to a new range of smartphones, significantly expanding customer access.
"The AliveCor Heart Monitor is small, versatile, uses very little battery power, and can be used any time in almost any location," Thomson added.
