Antioxidant juices and nutritional supplements manufacturer KonaRed has signed a letter of intent (LoI) to create a strategic partnership with Sparkling Drink Systems International (SDS).
As part of the understanding, both companies will launch a line of powdered beverage pods worldwide co-developed exclusively for use with Viberation, SDS' at-home carbonation appliances and portable beverage products.
SDS founder and executive chairman Serge Bueno said that the market is on look out for healthy drinks enhanced with functional benefits such as antioxidants.
"Our strategy is to have one or two major brands covering all of our functional benefit soft drinks plus a range of brands to cover specifics such as children, sport and natural organic beverages, etc., and KonaRed fits perfectly into this strategy," Bueno added.
Said to be available in the US in late 2014, the KonaRed / Viberation co-branded beverage range is expected to include original Hawaiian CoffeeBerry, Organic Green Tea and Coconut Water flavor pods.
