Following a strong first quarter, over recent weeks incoming orders in the German kitchen furniture industry also remained slightly above the level of the previous year in the majority of cases. Nevertheless since April kitchen manufacturers have increasingly been reporting about divergences between business on the domestic market and the export markets. Whilst, with the exception of an interim slack phase, incoming orders from the German market have developed along fairly positive lines, in a number of – particularly European - export markets, it is no longer possible to achieve the levels of the previous year. Depending on the export proportion and the focus of export activity, this has a more or less significant effect on the overall level of incoming orders of the respective manufacturers. Generally speaking, the increase rates have slackened off over the course of the second quarter to date, declines are only rarely recorded, however. Source: euwid-wood-products
