Lundbeck Has Announced Plans to Enhance and Simplify Its Commercial Structure in Europe

Denmark-based pharmaceutical company H. Lundbeck has announced plans to enhance and simplify its commercial structure in Europe to boost its ability to launch new medicines.

As per the plan, the project could result in elimination of up to 55 jobs to reduce costs and align more than 30 affiliates in 10 strong business units to minimize general complexity of the business.

The company expects improvement of competencies in areas, including market access, marketing and medical affairs through the proposed establishment of business units in the region.

For global diversification, the company is expected to divide its commercial operations into six regions Europe, USA, Canada, Asia, Latin America and Middle East & Global Distribution.

Lundbeck International Markets and Europe senior vice president Ole Chrintz said the company wants to ensure the transition of product portfolio through successful launches of new medicines.

"With this plan we will have the focus, the structure and the competencies in place to achieve that," Chrintz added.

The simplification of commercial structure is based on the new change program named 'Fit for the Future', which is designed to reduce complexity, increase organizational efficiency and free up resources.
