Large-size panel shipments declined 2.5% in June, according to research firm TrendForce.
The firm said that because of the start of the slow season in June, extending price drops for TV panels, TV vendors stayed cautious on procurement, causing LCD TV panel shipments to see one of the biggest declines at 7.7% on month to 18.78 million units in June. Monitor panel shipments declined 4% on month to 14.02 million units as Taiwan-based maker Innolux shifted some of its capacity to small- to medium-size panel production, added TrendForce.
However, the panel makers' 10.1-inch and above notebook panel shipments increased 5.4% on month to 17.74 million units during June, said the firm.
The firm also expects that TV panel shipments will drop another 2-3% in July, while monitor panel shipments are expected to decline 1-2%.
