Race fans haven't seen Axalta's Brilliant Flames paint scheme since the Michigan 400 in August when four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Jeff Gordon notched another victory. The GEICO 500 marks the return of the No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet SS at the legendary Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, October 19, 2014. It is the final race of the 2014 Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Contender Round.
"However, we're hoping to provide the good karma of three wins this season in our Brilliant Flames paint scheme. It's going to be exciting...We paint winners!"
With six wins at the 2.66 mile tri-oval, Gordon's experience racing on one of the fastest tracks, while running door-to-door with 42 other competitors for three hours could be the key to Victory Lane.
Having paced NASCAR's premier series for much of the season, Gordon is one to watch. "Talladega is the wild card on the Chase schedule where the unpredictable seems to be expected," said Wade Robinson, Axalta Strategic Marketing and Racing Director. "However, we're hoping to provide the good karma of three wins this season in our Brilliant Flames paint scheme. It's going to be exciting...We paint winners!"
