A glazing replacement project by GLASSOLUTIONS at Britain’s National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, has improved the looks, weather proofing and energy efficiency of a building that houses one of the country’s most important collections of cars and motorcycles.
The GLASSOLUTIONS Portsmouth team fulfilled the £130,000 project which involved replacing all the glazing to the roof, comprising four rooflights each containing 240 panes. The extensive work was commissioned following a successful trial replacement of six panes back in 2010 and also required the replacement of roof glazing in the stunning central core.

The nature of the exhibits demanded extreme care and sensitivity during the refurbishment project. The National Motor Museum is home to 250 vehicles produced since the late-19th century, including famous on-screen cars from the James Bond films and Top Gear programme, plus a collection of rare World Land Speed Record Breakers.
GLASSOLUTIONS scheduled the replacement work between the hours of 6.00am and 10.00am to minimise disruption to the smooth running of this major tourist destination which attracts more than 400,000 visitors every year.
