Freewaters, makers of casual and conscious footwear, welcomed Jose “Nono” Sierra to its sales team. Nono brings over 21 years of experience representing brands across the surf market in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica.
“I am very pleased Freewaters is able to partner with Nono,” says John Gothard, vice president of sales at Freewaters. “We’ve spent over a year looking for someone who can convey our message in Puerto Rico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica, yet still provide the level of service we expect. I did not want to simply hire a rep who could sell sandals to these regions, but rather someone who would truly embrace values of Freewaters.”
Having an extensive background and interest in curating events, Nono was a key figure in successfully bringing the Ripcurl Pro Search to Puerto Rico in 2010 and the Ripcurl Pro Puerto Rico in 2013. Representing brands such as Rip Curl USA and Dragon Alliance Sunglasses, on top of being an ex-professional windsurfer, Nono is always striving to expand his knowledge of the industry and the ocean.
“I have been stoked on the brand since day one,” said Nono. “I’m all about their progressive styles, quality and passion for water sports and clean water projects. I’m psyched to get out there and spread the word to shops throughout my region.”
