'Pop Tint' Line Was Presented by Namrata Joshipura at Lfw Finale

A mirror lined ramp and backdrop, 28 pillars along the ramp lit up in Pop Tints and laser lights from the ceiling aimed at the runway; set the mood for the Grand Finale of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013.

As the colourful audio visual showed the beautiful Kareena Kapoor - face of Lakmé Absolute, the audience was introduced to the gorgeous colours that would unfold on the ramp.

Delicious cool, yummy, irresistible - are just a few adjectives that can describe the sensational Grand Finale collection inspired by the Lakmé Absolute Pop Tint colours presented by Namrata Joshipura, to end the Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 season.

The “Pop Tint” collection was as juicy and slurpy as sorbets, jellies and candies making the audience long for those colourful creations for their wardrobes.

Frothy dresses, sexy shorts, soft summer blazers with narrow notched lapels and two-button closures for easy comfort; were so versatile, the wearer can team them with just about anything.

Cool as the summer breeze were the sheer organza wrap skirts that had more lives when teamed with the colourful tops.

Inspired by the Lakmé Absolute range for Summer/Resort 2013 the colours played the leading role with acid yellow, orange, neon pink, white, neutrals and splashes of gold and sequins lighting up the catwalk.

Wearing space age glasses and metallic décor on their forehead, the 29 sexy models strutted down the ramp to fast paced music displaying the beautifully created 45 outfits.

Cutwork was the basis of the collection, while the silhouettes were figure hugging with pencil skirts, blazers, sheaths, hot pants, gowns, Lycra tops, jumpsuits and shirts; but volume was reserved for neon pink pleated palazzos and a sexy orange flared mini skirt. Drop waist dresses had a comfortable retro feel, while cropped blouses had pleated swinging rear interest.

Tiny collars appeared for shirts, blouses, dresses and even gowns, piping was subtle, but extended shoulders added a contemporary touch.

The beauty of the laser cuts and lacy fabrics was further highlighted by the contrast lining under the skirts, dresses and pants. Shimmer was very discreet and appeared on collars, cuffs, fronts of garments and as placement effects on pants. 3D embellishment was often seen on bustiers, skirts and dresses in contrasting pop tints.

For after-dark glamour, Namrata had shimmering, will-power orange gowns, but the golden versions with long sleeves almost had an Amazon like appearance.

As the lights dimmed, from behind a billowing smoke screen emerged the very stunning Kareena Kapoor, in a glittering pop pink pantsuit and shirt.

The Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 Grand Finale for Lakmé Absolute Pop Tints was one of the most perfectly presented fashion shows with clothes that had ultra sophisticated finish and styling, which only ace designer Namrata Joshipura was capable of creating.

Earlier this month Lakmé launched a limited edition collection – Lakmé Absolute POP TINTS, a make-up range that consists of eight lip tints in shades of summer, including bright orange, vivacious pink and flaming red for that amazing “read-my-lips” pout and eight nail tints in pastel tones of blue, green and corals.

Each shade is beautifully inspired by hues of neon, sorbets and jellies and captures the spirit and exuberance of the contemporary Indian woman. The limited edition of Lakmé Absolute Pop Tints will hit the stores across India from May 2013.
