The Nationwide Association of Photocopier and Print Suppliers (NAPPS) has been established to represent the views of the photocopier suppliers market and advise consumers on regulatory matters.
The association says the photocopier reseller and dealer channel in the UK has been "blighted by a lack of regulation, leading to a degree of consumer misunderstanding and, in some cases, mistrust."
NAPPS said it will evaluate and accredit its members' operating standards through its code of practice with the aim to provide a collective voice and trusted community of suppliers that will uphold the highest quality of customer delivery.
"Our aim is to create a community of suppliers who consumers can believe in and have total peace of mind when working with them, and the support we have had so far has been overwhelming," said NAPPS director Aaron Warham.
"NAPPS is all about promoting the positive aspects of the industry," he said.
The new association has three foundation partner members in Adobe, Xerox and the British Association for Print and Communication.
