Plum Creek Timber Was Able to Increase Its Total Turnover by Approximately 15%

In 2012 Plum Creek Timber was able to increase its total turnover by approximately 15% to US$1.339bn and the operating profit by 2% to US$281m. All business divisions contributed to this increase in turnover and results. The highest growth rate was a turnover increase of 19% to US$324m in the manufacturing business division. This division includes Plum Creek’s lumber and wood based panel activities and is currently benefiting particularly from a high demand from the US construction industry, and consequently increased prices. Plum Creek was able to increase its MDF sales by 25% vis à vis 2011 to a total of 199.5m sqft. Plywood sales volume also increased significantly by 16% to 199.4m. Lumber sales, by contrast, at 115.3m bdft remained stable at a similar level to last year.
