950 global suppliers of fabrics, denim and sportswear presented 1,500 basic to haute couture collections attracting around 20,000 visitors from the global textiles and apparel industry, say organisers of Munich Fabric Start, which concluded on September 4.
Although the number of visitors was flat from last edition, organisers inform that international visitor numbers grew at this edition.
"We are a little surprised and, of course, very pleased about the rising turnout from Europe and beyond, like America and Canada. It confirms that the carefully curated portfolio attracts visitors to Munich from all over the world," says Wolfgang Klinder.
The denim and sportswear trade fair 'BLUEZONE', a show-in-show concept of Munich Fabric Start, presented innovations of denim and flat wovens from 75 international denim and sportswear manufacturers over the two days.
"The exceedingly positive response to the BLUEZONE shows us the event is scheduled at both the right time and the right place. The market needs and uses this denim platform on these dates," Klinder adds.
The early preview fair - View Premium Selection, offers the apparel sector an initial preview of next season's innovations and trends with a selected portfolio of 300 high-quality collections already several weeks in the run-up to Munich Fabric Start.
The next Munich Fabric Start will be held from 2 to 4 February 2015, while BLUEZONE will run concurrently on the first two trade fair days on 2 and 3 February 2015.
