Australia-based Cabral Resources plans to obtain all the environmental permits it needs for its Sincora iron ore project in the state of Bahia, Brazil, by September this year, the company announced this week.
“Cabral is currently awaiting the requisite formal environmental approvals from the relevant regulatory authorities before any drill program can commence within the Queixada Zone [in Bahia]. These are currently estimated to be received in the September 2014 Quarter,” the company said.
The mining company said its mineralogical studies in the area are “encouraging, showing that the final iron ore product specifications can be improved through the introduction of very simple optimisation methods.”
The Sincora project is located near the Brumado complex, which is also owned by the Brazilian-focused company. The Brumado complex is about 90 kilometers from the Sincora area.
According to Cabral, its Sincorá area covers 1,195 square kilometers and has “significant high grade DSO [Direct Shipping Ore] hematite iron ore potential with very low contaminants.”
The company was not immediately available to comment on Tuesday.
