Fresh Express Is Voluntarily Recalling Fresh Express Spinach in The Us

Fresh Express is voluntarily recalling Fresh Express Spinach in the US as the product may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The US-based food company noted that the recall has been initiated after a random sample yielded a positive result for Salmonella under US Department of Agriculture's random sample testing program.

The product subject to the recall is Fresh Express Spinach,9 oz.package,bearing product code S299B25 and use-by date of 7 November.It was distributed in the Western region of the US.

No illnesses or consumer complaints linked to the consumption of this product have been reported.No other Fresh Express products are subject to this recall.

Fresh Express said that its customer service representatives are contacting relevant retailers to confirm the recalled product has been removed from store shelves and inventories and that none is available for consumer purchase.

Consumers who may have purchased the recalled salad have been asked not to eat it,but to dispose it.Fresh Express is offering a full refund.

Consumption of food contaminated with salmonella may cause salmonellosis,a foodborne illness.Salmonellosis may lead to serious and sometimes deadly infections in young children,the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
