Recalling Mortadella in Us Over Undeclared Allergen

US-based Fiorucci Foods is recalling 2,650 pounds of mortadella as the product may contain pistachio nuts, which are not mentioned on the label of the product.

The products subject to recall include cases containing Black Bear of the Black Forest Mortadella bearing case code of 510411 and the cases of Colosseum Mortadella with a case code of 50405.

Both the products were produced on 10 November 2012. They bear the establishment number EST. 4058 inside the USDA mark of inspection and a sell by date of 10 February 2013.

The recall was initiated after the company noticed an error in the labeling of the product. The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service is monitoring the recall. There have been no reports of illnesses linked to the consumption of these products.
