Ameron International Began Looking for Suppliers to Help Build a New US$60 Million Plant

Ameron International, a subsidiary of National Oilwell Varco and manufacturer of fabricated steel products and other industrial applications, began looking for suppliers this week to help build a new US$60 million plant in San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora state.

The director of the Economic Development Commission of San Luis Río Colorado, Carlos Mexia Medina, said the company is committed to supplying materials and services locally. Preliminary construction efforts such as clearing the land have already began, and the actual construction of the plant will commence in a few weeks. The start of operations is planned for 2014, and is expected to generate in its first stage 200 direct jobs.
