After sending off summer with its resounding debut at New York Fashion Week and the opening of its flagship store at number 530 on legendary Fifth Avenue,  ever-growing Desigual is unbeatable in international markets.

On 30 October, it opened a new shop in the Patio Higienopolis mall in Sao Paulo, one of the Brazilian city’s best shopping districts. With an area of 200sqm, it reflects the brand’s cheerful, optimistic philosophy, summed up in its “Life if Cool” slogan.

The new shop sells the brand’s Woman and Accessories collections, plus garments designed in partnership with French designer Monsieur Lacroix and the Desigual collection inspired by Cirque Du Soleil. Desigual has plans for a second shop in Brazil in the first quarter of 2014, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

In this way, the company is reasserting its commitment to Latin America, where it first arrived in 2010. Today it operates in Brazil, Colombia, Panama, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic and has more than 180 multibrand clients, 32 retail corners, 13 franchise stores and seven PoS in major ports and airports.

At the global level, Desigual has 380 retail shops, 9,000 multibrand shops and 2,200 shop-in-shops in department stores in 109 countries. It employs 3,800 people of 85 different nationalities. The Desigual Sport collection will reach the shops for the Spring-Summer 2014 season and the brand is now preparing the launch of its fragrance trio ‘Sex, Fun and Love’ for December. In 2012, it sold more than 22 million garments.
