New Motor Vehicle Registrations Rise 7.49 Percent in Jan-Sept

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September of the current year new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey increased by 12.20 percent year on year to 95,204 units, up 10.35 percent on month-on-month basis. In the first nine months this year, new motor vehicle registrations in Turkey totaled 879,790 units, rising 7.49 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

New passenger car registrations in September this year totaled 51,842 units, increasing by 7.6 percent as compared to August and up 28 percent year on year. Passenger cars accounted for 54.5 percent of total new motor vehicle registrations.

On the other hand, new small truck registrations in September increased by 14.74 percent month on month and were down 21.86 percent year on year, amounting to 11,721 units. Small truck registrations constituted 12.13 percent of total new registrations.
