Turkish specialty steel producer Asil Celik A.S. (Asil Celik) has announced its financial results for the second quarter and the first half of 2013.
In the second quarter, Asil Celik posted a net profit of TRY 3.9 million ($1.95 million), down 61.8 percent compared to the same quarter of the previous year. Sales revenues of the company decreased by 23.2 percent year on year to TRY 118.5 million ($59.4 million). The company registered an operating profit of TRY 4.62 million ($2.3 million) in the second quarter this year, down 69 percent year on year.
In the first six months of the current year, the steelmaker registered a net profit of TRY 7.33 million ($3.67 million), down 76.5 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Asil Celik's sales revenues in the given period totaled TRY 244.6 million ($122.6 million), down 29.3 percent year on year, while the company posted an operating profit of TRY 11.24 million ($5.63 million), decreasing by 71.1 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2012.
