M&S Has Launched Long Life Milk in New Tetra Pak Cartons

UK-based retailer Marks and Spencer (M&S) has launched its first range of long life skimmed, semi-skimmed and whole milk produced by Crediton Dairy, in new Tetra Pak cartons.

The six-layered 1l Tetra Brik Aseptic carton keeps the milk fresh and offers protection for up to six months, without the need for preservatives or refrigeration, until ready for consumption.

Tetra Pak claims that the light-weight, stackable pack design of the carton makes it easy to transport and is space-efficient on shelf as well as in the cupboard.

Made primarily from wood in the form of paperboard, sourced from responsibly-managed forests, the cartons are recyclable after use.

Tetra Pak UK & Ireland marketing manager Andrew Smith said long life milk, which is the preferred choice in many European countries, can be conveniently stored in the cupboard and has all the same applications as chilled milk.

"We're thrilled to be bringing these benefits to M&S shoppers for the first time, working with Crediton Dairy to pack M&S' first ever range of long life milk in our Tetra Brik Aseptic cartons, which use our unique aseptic technology to keep the milk inside fresh and safe until customers are ready to enjoy it," Smith said.
