Integra LifeSciences, a US-based medical technology company, has announced the launch of its Integra proximal humeral fracture plate system in the US.
The proximal humeral fracture plate system, which is the latest addition to the company's shoulder product line, features a low profile plate and a greater tuberosity plate in single tray.
Low profile plate will be placed lower on the humerus to reduce subacromial and soft tissue impingement.
Providing a higher placement option, the greater tuberosity plate has 12 proximal screw holes to maximize the fixation coverage of the humeral head.
The Low profile and greater tuberosity plates have four holes to provide stable fixation in the calcar neck and help protect against varus tilt and settling of the humeral head.
These two plates will simplify positioning, while minimizing soft tissue interference.
Integra LifeSciences Extremity Reconstruction president and corporate vice president Robert Paltridge noted the company is very pleased that it can now offer surgeons a comprehensive portfolio of solutions for shoulder fractures, to help address the individual needs of their patients.
"Our new system complements the Titan(TM) Modular Fracture and Reverse Shoulder System, and allows us to further penetrate the growing shoulder market by providing surgeons with multiple options for fracture treatment," Paltridge added.
The proximal humeral fracture plate system offers the surgeons a versatile solution for shoulder fracture treatment.
