The Pressure Exerted by Volumes on The Markets for TMP Woodchips Has Gradually Waned

The pressure exerted by volumes on the markets for TMP woodchips until well into July has gradually waned in the last few weeks. The supply has decreased perceptibly due to the holiday-related production stoppages and reduced shifts in the sawmilling industry. The loss of the two chipper lines at Holzwerke Probstl after the fire on 31 May 2012 is still noticeable as well. Buyers' market-driven cuts in output in July and August, however, turned out to be less pronounced than had been anticipated before the holidays. In addition to this, Stracel has sooner stepped up its purchasing activities again in the last few weeks and is increasingly establishing contact to German sawmills hitherto outside its circle of suppliers.
