Paper and packaging giant in the US, International Paper (IP) has announced the closure of its Santa Paula container plant by the middle of June.
IP regional general manager Shawn Todino said that the company's acquisition of Temple-Inland in February has left it with more capacity than customers need, vcstar.com reported.
"Other area facilities are better positioned to handle the production requirements that will be necessary as we consolidate our operations," Todino said.
The plant produces corrugated packaging for agriculture, industrial, food, beverage and consumer products.
IP has plants throughout the US and in Europe, Latin America, Russia, Asia and North Africa.
