US stainless steel product surcharge may stop from 5 months of slide and rise in September as this month LME nickel price remained higher than July’s average price.
Stainless surcharge rise would follow current translation price rise in August and will also have second rise price rise for October. According to analyst, nickels are mined much higher than current buyers’ demand in the short run.
However, even the price rise for the base nickel price hike, demand for stainless steel remains slow in US market as demand remains slow in product and process industries. But the booking prices are higher in August.
