Baking Up a New Concept in Magnets

Newly patented devices from Bunting??Magnetics Co. represent an advance in bread pan magnet technology, significantly increasing the life of magnets on proofing and oven lines, and greatly reducing magnet replacement costs in baking applications.

A patented magnetic circuit prevents spillage on racks, and the new Bunting bread pan magnets can be placed on and removed from racks without the need for bolts:?the magnets 'float' on racks, and maintain contact even with warped pans. The concept was introduced at the 2013 International Baking Industry Exhibition show in Las Vegas in October.

Boon for Baking Plants

"Customer interest at the recent IBIE show exceeded all expectations; this new bread pan magnet represents a major improvement in baking technology," said Don Suderman, Bunting product manager for material handling and one of the inventors.?"The new Bunting bread pan magnet is easy to use and maintain in busy baking plants."

Offering tool-free installation and quick maintenance, the patented Bunting design includes a sealed structure, locking out moisture which could degrade the magnet. With oxidation eliminated, magnet life is extended and costs are lowered.

For more than 50 years, Bunting has been developing and manufacturing precision magnetic products for the worldwide printing, automobile, plastics, food, electronics, and recycling industries.
