The new big data platform uses HP's analytics software, hardware and services.

HP hasintroduced a new a big data analytics platform, Haven, which claimed to help enterprises to gain better insight into their data and deliver real-time insights.

The new platform uses company's analytics software, hardware and services to deliver big data-ready analytics applications and solutions.

HP Software executive vice president George Kadifa said big data enables organisations to take advantage of the totality of their information -- both internal and external -- in real time.

"It produces extremely fast decision making, resulting in unique and innovative ways to serve customers and society," Kadifa said.

Launched at the HP Discover 2013, Project Haven knits capabilities from the acquisitions of Autonomy, Vertica Systems and ArcSight to assist organisations overcome the barriers to big data success and gather the rewards of data analysis.

According to the US firm, the new analytics software deals with some very big issues for the IT market and for the HP.

The company has also signed a PC deal with Google in a bid to increase its sales to small and medium business (SMB) customers and offset plunging demand for PCs.

As part of HP's deal with Google, the initial phase of HP SMB IT in a Box will leverage currently available HP hardware such as PCs and printers, in addition to Google Apps for Business, Google's cloud-based communication and collaboration tools.

HP SMB IT in a Box incorporates HP's PCs, printers, management console, administration and customer support with the productivity, collaboration tools and security of Google Apps.

In addition, the move will allow HP's resellers to deliver HP PCs and printers packed along with Google's business e-mail, word processing and calendar tools.

Currently, HP offers several products based on Google's Android and Chrome operating systems, which include the HP SlateBook x2, HP Slate7 and the HP Chromebook.
