Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Thrift Shop to open at FIT's Pomerantz

A Surrealist-themed holiday pop-up shop designed, installed, and merchandised by students in the Visual Presentation and Exhibit Design program with items for sale from The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Thrift Shop will open at FIT’s Pomerantz Art and Design Center on Tuesday, November 19th.

FIT Students to Set-up Pop-up Shop for Holiday Season

Holiday Bizarre — named for its Surrealist and Dada art movement inspirations — will sell new and gently-worn women’s designer fashions, plus vintage pieces.

The pop-up shop is the brainchild of the students in FIT’s “Point of Sale” class, and every aspect is student-designed, from the décor (an upside-down Christmas tree, giant 48” eyeball ornaments and 36” lips, and iconic artworks wryly altered for the holidays) to the windows, music, hang tags, and shopping bags.

This is the first collaboration between FIT and The Society MSKCC Thrift Shop. 100% of the sales benefit the thrift shop, which supports The Society’s important patient care, education, and research programs at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
