Governor of Bursa Has Contributed Significantly to Turkish Apparel Sector

The children’s apparel industry of Bursa city in Turkey has contributed significantly to the garment sector in the country, Governor of Bursa, Munir Karalogluna said during a meeting with Bursa Children’s Apparel Industry Association (BEKSIAD) representatives.

The Governor said that the children’s apparel industry in Bursa is a pivotal sector, contributing the maximum towards the exports of clothing items from the country, and it has the potential to make even more important contributions to the national economy, according to a statement issued by the BEKSIAD.

Halil Atalay, president of BEKSIAD said the apparel sector in the city of Bursa has been constantly changing and growing.

The textile and apparel industry is an important sector that contributes towards the growth of the national economy especially in terms of employment, he added.

Mr. Atalay said the new task of the firms operating in the Bursa children’s apparel sector is to work responsibly towards upgrading the sector and improve its recognition in and around the world.

One of the major problems faced by the children’s apparel industry is the lack of qualified personnel and to resolve this problem BEKSIAD has collaborated with the Buzmen Organization of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, he added.
