Italian packaging applications firm Marchesini Group has purchased some technologies of Bologna-based Multipack specializing in end-of-line packaging systems for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and foodstuff.
Marchesini, which has been using Multipack's machinery in its production line, now plans to offer complete packaging lines with more integrated technology.
Multipack offers wrapping machines suited to the requirements of industries ranging from food processing to absorbent products catering to the tissue market. It provides its consumers with customized strapping machines, overwrappers, box formers and heat-shrink tunnels.
Marchesini Group CEO Maurizio Marchesini said: "Multipack is renowned for its reliability in designing end-of-line machines.
"The acquisition of some of its technologies, that we have been working with for some years, is just a part of a strategic project focusing on boosting production and internationalising markets."
Multipack chairman Aldo Stupazzoni said: " "This transaction further enhances the commitment of Multipack in the tissue industries; we have indeed almost finished developing other innovative wrapping systems for rolls of toilet paper and kitchen towels."
