Reportedly, Posco is largest steelmaker in South Korea, planned to develop a new 300,000 metric ton/year cold-rolle non-grain-oriented electrical steel sheet plant at Vile Bhagad in the Raigarh district of western India's Maharashtra state. The project expects to be completed in August this year and the product will be able to supply of metal pins used for rotary machines such as motors according to the company said. Currently, India has relied on imports of both grain-oriented and non-grain-oriented electrical steel. Korea was the biggest supplier so far. In the meantime, Posco also expects to build a high-grade grain-oriented sheet factory in India in order to meet the demand growth in the country's power sector but there was no any further details offering.
