Japan exported 63,590 tons of stainless steel flat products in April, falling by 12.4% from March and decreasing by 4.5% year on year, according to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance. In the first four months of this year, the country’s exports of stainless steel flat products amounted to 246,546 tons, decreasing by 9.3% year on year. In the given period of time, the country’s exports of stainless steel flats made to Korea totaled 59,188 tons, falling by 5.2%; those to Taiwan were at 40,652 tons, decreasing by 11.5%; those to China were at 40,375 tons, rising by 29.1% and those to Thailand were at 35,200 tons, declining by 37.9%, all compared to those in the same period of a year ago.
