According to the data from General Administration of Customs, China's imports of rice reached 179810 tons in Otcober, increasing 27.63% on month. China exported 57490 tons of rice in October, up 33.24%. And the total rice export volume in January to October was 236560 tons, down 41.63%.
USDA reported that China would export 3.7 million tons of rice in 2014/15, down 30% on year because of the increasing domestic production. The report predicted that China's rice production would reach 144 million tons in 2014/15 due to more cultivated area. And China would export 350000 tons of rice in 2014/15, up 36%.
Since the beginning of this year, rice imports volume has increased rapidly. Imported rice is more polular due to a lower price than demestic rice.
