The Prices of Building Materials Have Increased in The UAE

Demand for materials causes surge. (CW Group) The prices of building materials have risen in the UAE, a report from MENAFN said. According to the report, the Statistics Center of Abu Dhabi revealed that the increase in demand has pushed up the values of some materials. The center stated that, compared to last year, 15 out of 21 materials, have shown price increases during the second quarter of 2011. Recently, the prices of power cables have increased by 44.1 percent from 2010, the report said. The prices of aggregates and sand also increased by 29.9 percent. The prices of wires for apartments have also surged by 26 percent. Meanwhile, the average rents of transportation equipment have increased by 37 percent. In June, however, several materials within the glass category posted price reductions of around 22 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, bathroom sets and stainless steel sinks also witnessed price reductions in May by about 10 percent. Source: bmweek.com
