Oxford Limited has signed a deal with Swadesh Essfil Pvt. Ltd to create a line of University of Oxford branded toys and games for the Indian market.
The two-year deal is the first to be confirmed by Oxford in the territory. It was brokered by its agent, Bradford License India.
"The toy and game category is a key focus for Oxford as we can add so much value to a licence via our reputation for academic excellence and specialist knowledge across the many subject areas that we offer," said Chris Evans, MD of Oxford Limited.
"The University's museums, archives and collections also offer a wealth of content that licensees can tap into, from dinosaurs and evolution at the Museum of Natural History through to 6,500 plant species at the Botanic Gardens and Egyptian artefacts at the Ashmolean."
Rajvi Makol, director at Essfil, added: "We want to develop games and toys that encourage children to learn through play. We believe that our partnership with Oxford will help us to create products that stimulate a child's senses and spark their imagination."
