A product that promises to bring toys to life has been green-lit for manufacture.
Atoms has just smashed its funding target of $100,000 on Kickstarter, having generated $183,232 in total.
The products allow children to make a variety of existing toys move, make noises, light up and more.
A statement on the Atoms Express Toys Kickstarter page read: "Atoms give kids of any age the ability to make their toys DO things. And not just new toys – Atoms were built to work with the stuff kids already have, like LEGO, costumes, stuffed animals, Barbies and action figures.
"Atoms don’t require any electronics skills or programming experience – or supervision from a parent with an engineering degree. In fact, because of the tiny electronics built into each one, kids can make all sorts of cool stuff within five minutes of taking Atoms out of the box."
For example, kids can use Atoms to make a static plush toy move or light up, or attach a motor to a LEGO set to make a garage door open and close. Kids can even use an iPhone as a remote control for their toys. The possibilities are seemingly almost limitless.
An initial trial manufacturing run will begin next month, with all products ready for shipment this summer.
