PSA Peugeot Citron (PSA) and General Motors (GM) will be manufacturing small light commercial vehicles (B-LCV) from their respective brands at the PSA plant in Vigo, Spain.
The arrangement is a part of the existing alliance between the two automakers that was signed in December 2013.
According to PSA, the new vehicles will be built upon its latest LCV architecture and will replace the Citron Berlingo, Peugeot Partner and Opel/Vauxhall Combo.
The vehicles of the two brands will be differentiated through their unique appearance.
The latest B-LCV vehicle project is the third amongst the three projects the companies have undertaken.
Other projects under the alliance include production of B-MPV (B-segment multi-purpose vehicles) in the GM plant in Zaragoza, Spain and production of C-CUV (C-segment crossover utility vehicles) in the PSA plant in Sochaux, France.
