India auto production has reported a 5.81% rise in April to 1,721,627 vehicles when compared to the 1,627,039 produced during the same period in 2011.
The country's overall domestic sales grew 10.01% during the period when compared over same period the previous year.
Passenger vehicle segment reported a 9.3% rise in sales while, the sales of passenger cars grew 3.4%, utility vehicles reported 47.3%rise and Vans were 6.74% up when compared to the same period last year.
The overall commercial vehicle segment grew 4.37% in April, Light Commercial Vehicles were up 15.8%, while Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles declined with 11.6%.
Commercial Vehicles segment registered an overall growth of 4.37% in April, Light Commercial Vehicles rose at 15.83%, while Medium & Heavy Commercial Vehicles (M&HCVs) registered a 11.60% decline on the same period last year.
India has reported a 1.29% rise in overall automobile exports with passenger vehicles declined 10.47%, commercial vehicles and three wheelers reported 13.62% and 20.50% declines respectively.
