Linz Textil Holding GmbH Has Installed an Autocoro 8 Rotor-Spinning Machine

Germany-based Oerlikon Schlafhorst, a business unit of Oerlikon Textile GmbH & Co. KG, reports that Linz Textil Holding GmbH — an Austria-based manufacturer of yarns and fabrics for apparel and technical textiles applications — has installed an Autocoro 8 rotor-spinning machine at its mill in Landeck, Austria, which specializes in producing 100-percent cotton open-end yarns. This is the second Autocoro 8 that Linz Textil has purchased.

Christian Ascher, Landeck plant manager, reports increased productivity and energy savings of more than 20 percent at the plant since installing the Autocoro 8. He also notes the machine offers improved yarn quality and more flexible production.

"Thanks to the PilotUnit on the Autocoro 8, we can produce yarn and develop new yarns at the same time," Ascher said. "No customer needs to wait — neither the customer who has ordered a normal yarn lot, nor the customer seeking a handful of sample packages of certain grades. The multi-lot capability of the new Autocoro 8 fits in perfectly with our corporate philosophy. Compared with the older machine technology, the Autocoro 8 is a logistical marvel. We can now coordinate our lot sizes precisely to our clients' requests and we finally have all the freedom we need, even with regard to yarn and package parameters, to offer our customers an even more individual service and to consolidate our market position."
