The US Steel Import Permit Applications for The Month of February of This Year Down by 5 %

It is reported that according to governmental statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US steel import permit applications for the month of February of this year down by 5 % from 2,692,000 to 2,558,000 net tons compared with the previous month. 

For the first two months of 2013, Korea remains on top of the foreign suppliers at 645,000 net tons of steel while China takes the second place with 284,000 net tons and Turkey imported 276,000 net tons of steel to the United States. 

In the single month of February, Japan and Germany are among the top five imported countries with 134,000 net tons and 100,000 net tons of steel imports respectively.
