OMAHA, Neb. --- Online retailer Hayneedle, which sells furniture, decorative accessories and numerous other products for the home, has leased its second distribution center, a 300,000-square-foot facility in Riverside, Calif.
The retailer said the new facility will improve service to customers on the West Coast, and also provide a cross-docking and deconsolidation site for its imported merchandise.
Coupled with Hayneedle's existing 600,000-square-foot distribution center in Monroe, Ohio, it will allow the retailer to reach 90% of its customers with two-day standard ground shipping, the company said.
"The West Coast facility is yet another milestone in our growth, and the location aligns with our commitment to provide unparalleled selection and unmatched customer service," said Tom Clement, vice president of supply chain and logistics. "We strive to set the highest standard for the online home furnishings industry when it comes to delivering an exceptional and consistent customer experience."
The Riverside facility is scheduled to open next spring and will have about 20 employees, the company said.
