Global PV system installations are estimated at 36GWp for 2013 and is expected to increase by 20% to 43GWp in 2014, with demand mainly to come from China, Japan and the US, Taiwan-based Neo Solar Power chairman Quincy Lin said, according to the Chinese-language newspaper Economic Daily News (EDN).
Neo Solar will have expanded its annual production capacity for crystalline silicon solar cells to 2.1GWp by the end of 2013 and PV modules from 240MWp currently to 480MWp in 2014, Lin indicated. Due to strong demand, Neo Solar has fully utilized production capacity with a book-to-bill ratio over 1, Lin added.
