Home Textiles Fair in Turkey Would Facilitate The Country's Export and Import Activities

The home textiles fair in Turkey would facilitate the country’s export and import activities, especially in the specific segment of home textiles, said European Union (EU) Minister and Chief Negotiator for Turkey Egemen Bagis, at the recently concluded first edition of CNR HOME & TEX Decoration Home Textiles fair in city of Istanbul.

According to a statement issued by CNR HOME & TEX Istanbul, the EU Minister said during the opening ceremony of the fair, that the event held for the first time in the field of home textiles would increase trade activity in the home textiles sector of the country as international enterprises from Russia, Middle East and North African countries are participating in the fair.

To be held bi-annually, in the coming years, the fair would provide enterprises with the opportunity of developing the sector further and boost the Turkish economy, he added.

The first edition of the expo saw participation from leading diplomats and officials including Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov, Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) president Mehmet Buyukeksi, chairman of CNR Holding Ceyda Erem, Turkey Home Textiles Industrialists’ and Businessmen Association (TETSIAD) chairman Yasar Kucukcalik, and Uludag Textile Exporters Association (UTIB) president Abraham Burkay.

Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Ravil Zaripov said the exhibition provides the opportunity to develop the business relations between Turkey and Tatarstan, and result into long term trade relation between the two countries.

Nearly 300 firms operating in the home textiles segment from Turkey as well as other countries attended the four-day HOME & TEX fair and showcased various home textiles and decoration products, including home textiles embroidery and accessories, upholstery fabrics, kitchen and dining room textiles, bedroom products, bathroom linens and textiles as well as floor coverings.

The fair was organized by CNR Holdings to cater to the needs of the national and international home textiles market.
