Construction is due to start in early May on plants Nos. 1 and 2 of a new aluminized steel project located in Yichang in the Chinese province of Hubei, according to Chinese media reports.
The project in question, with a designed annual output of 1 million mt, is being built with an investment of RMB 1 billion ($162.1 million) on a site covering 20 hectares. After commencement of production operations, the project's annual sales revenues are expected to reach RMB 17 billion ($2.76 billion), while approximately 1,200 jobs will be provided. Aluminized steel possesses increased resistance to corrosion.
