Japanese carmaker Nissan has launched the new NV350 Caravan Premium GX commercial vehicle in Japan.
The new model will be powered by YD25DDTi engine, which will deliver 12.2kmpl on Japan's JC08 mode test cycle, while its gasoline engines including QR20DE engine will offer a fuel economy of 9.9kmpl and QR25DE with 9.1kmpl on JC08 test cycle.
Nissan said that the QR20DE gasoline engine models as well as the diesel AT variant will emit 50% reduced emissions over the 2009 standards.
According to the carmaker, the NV350 Caravan provides more load capacity with cargo space length of 3,050mm.
The new model also features push engine start, intelligent key, foot-operated parking brake and a vehicle information displaypositioned on the meter panel.
The diesel engine model and long body model will be on sale starting this month in Japan and the company plans to launch several other models by winter 2012.
Nissan is planning to sell about 2,000 units of the new caravan per month, which will be priced at $23 952 (JPY1,894,200) to $44 399 (JPY3,511,200).
