Nissan Is Planning to Use Renault Duster's Platform for The Development of Its Own SUV

Japanese carmaker Nissan is planning to use Renault Duster's platform for the development of its own SUV.

Currently, the carmaker is focusing on the SUV project which is expected to be launched in the Indian SUV market with entry and midsize sedan variants.

Nissan is also planning to launch Evalia MPV in India by late September 2012, which will be manufactured at Renault-Nissan alliance's Chennai facility in India.

The alliance is also planning to build a new manufacturing facility in different Indian states other than Tamilnadu to expand its production capacity.

By the end of next two-three years, the alliance is expected to reach its production capacity of 400,000 units at its Chennai facility.
