Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus(MFTBC),a commercial vehicle manufacturers,has started production of its new Canter light-duty truck for the European market following a final quality inspection.
The company said that the new Canter is developed in Japan,and is built for the European market at its Tramagal plant in Portugal.
The Portugal plant provides Canters for more than 30 countries,the company started Canter production in 1980 and has since built 160,000 vehicles and exported to countries all across Europe,as well as Israel.
The company plans to increase the capacity at the facility and export to a growing number of markets outside of Europe.
In terms of value,around half of the new Canter's components come from more than 90 European suppliers,including the engine,axle components,springs,brakes,tyres,headlamps and lights,seats and interior panelling.
