JSW Steel Mulls to Raise Its Steel Prices by 5% From September

It’s reported that JSW Steel, the largest private-owned steelmaker in India are mulling to raise its steel prices by 5% from September 1st as the raw material prices have increased due to depreciated Indian Rupees. The official of JSW Steel indicated that the company has no choice but to raise steel prices by 4%~6% as the prices of imported coal have increased by INR1, 500/ton recently. Meanwhile, the prices of iron ore have increased to US$144/ton from US$129.5/ton recently. Also, the coal prices have jumped to US$136/ton recently from US$125/ton in late June.
