Berlin Packaging Acquires Vivid Packaging

Hybrid packaging supplier Berlin Packaging has acquired rigid packaging supplier Vivid Packaging, which has its business networks spread across 25 states in the US as well as Canada and Mexico.

With this, Berlin Packaging has completed its fifth acquisition since 2010 and is poised to pursue its strategic plan that envisages doubling of revenues and earnings by 2017.

Berlin Packaging chairman and CEO Andrew Berlin said: "Each of the four acquisitions we made in 2010 and 2012 expanded our geographic footprint as well as the resources and capabilities available to assist customers with growing their bottom lines.

"This one achieves the same objectives, and we are confident that it will be equally successful because Vivid's vertical market focus and growth culture fit so well with ours.

"Acquisitions like these along with our continued strong organic growth, which has far outpaced the packaging industry for 20 years, are the core building blocks that will help us meet our goal of doubling in size by 2017."

The acquisition is expected to boost Berlin Packaging's presence in the Midwest with the addition of office and warehouses in Cleveland, consolidating its expertise in food and beverage, personal and pet care, industrial and household chemicals, and healthcare packaging.

Berlin Packaging had earlier purchased Pittsburgh-based All-Pak, Chicago-based Continental Packaging Solutions, Connecticut-based Lerman Container, and California-based United States Container Corporation (USCC).
