Aribex, a provider of portable and handheld X-ray products, has introduced a new intra-oral X-ray device in the US.
The NOMAD Pro 2 handheld X-ray system, which delivers a lower-dosage exposure, uses the proprietary shielding compound and backscatter shield to render the company's NOMAD as safer than conventional wall-hung intra-oral X-ray devices.
The device's new battery handset, with infrared connectors, along with a new charging cradle improves the system's durability and boosts battery performance.
Aribex general manager Ken Kaufman said the operatory environment can be hard on equipment, more so with the company's products that are easily carried from operatory to operatory.
"The NOMAD Pro 2 will stand up to repetitive antiseptic and cross-contamination control," Kaufman added.
"Even if an office needs to replace just one wall-mounted intra-oral device, the NOMAD opens up opportunities to improve the entire operatory workflow, not to mention the long-term solution it provides for future replacement needs.
"We feel fortunate to be a leader in this movement with almost 12,000 devices now in use, and we look forward to showing dental professionals throughout the US how the NOMAD Pro 2 enhancements will further evolve intra-oral imaging."
